Fieldays 2009 Visitor numbers: Total 117,000
 
Wednesday 10 June: 23,975 (first wet opening day since 2002)
Thursday 11 June: 30,614 (exceeded 2007 by over 2000, 2008 a record Thursday at 31,848)
Friday 12 June: 37,087(2008 record Friday, despite heavy rain, this was just 4,000 less)
Saturday 13 June: 25,324 (1403 more than last wet Saturday in 2006)

Innovations Competition Open    -    Fieldays ®
Entries for 2010 are now open for the annual Innovations Competition at the New Zealand National Agricultural Fieldays. The competition encourages New Zealanders to get creative in the rural sector, by producing new devices, developments and equipment which improve and support farming practice.

Fieldays 2010 Prospectus Online    -    Fieldays ®
The New Zealand National Agricultural Fieldays Society recently released the 2010 Fieldays prospectus online. Organisers of the largest agri-business event in the Southern Hemisphere have taken on board exhibitor and visitor feedback and are undergoing a comprehensive review of the entire National Agricultural Fieldays event. The 2010 New Zealand National Agricultural Fieldays will be reinvigorated with even stronger emphasis placed on the business of farmers connecting to the rural industry.

Tractor Pull Round Up 2009    -    Fieldays ®
The popular Fieldays Tractor Pull Competition, proudly sponsored by Interbloc and the Barn Company, again attracted large crowds of people. Despite heavy showers, the weather didn’t damper the spirits of spectators or the enthusiastic tractor drivers.

NZ National Fieldays experienced all seasons on the final day of the annual agricultural event. Regardless of fickle conditions, 25,324 turned out to explore the latest and greatest on offer to the industry.

Exhibitors mix it up at Fieldays     -    Fieldays ®
Fieldays fever has swept the Waikato as over 1,000 exhibitors have rallied for the 2009 New Zealand National Fieldays. The diversity and quality of sites this year have really impressed, as tens of thousand of people come to be apart of this years Fieldays. Exhibitors have provided the public with a vast range of products, services and entertainment opportunities, which have contributed to the success of this iconic event.

Ag Art Wear Winners announced    -    Fieldays ®
Designers held their breath as the 2009 National Fieldays Ag Art Wear Competition winners were announced on Friday, 12th June. Ag Art Wear attracted record numbers this year as over 800 people packed in to see the show. Over $16,000 worth of prizes were awarded at the 2009 Ag Art Wear awards ceremony, held after the 2pm Ag Art Wear show in the Spantech Pavilion.

Exhibitors delight in wet weather    -    Fieldays ®
NZ National Agricultural Fieldays exhibitors delighted in heavy rain over Mystery Creek Events Centre yesterday. Persistent showers drove the 37,087 visitors indoors to hundreds of satisfied exhibitors. Buildings overwhelmed by visitors were bustling market places; as a result businesses reported a significant increase in sales and genuine leads.

Innovations Golden Standard Winners    -    Fieldays ®
The Innovation centre at the 2009 Fieldays has attracted 68 entries in the six categories, all vying for the ultimate Innovation award, The Golden Standard. The awards were presented this morning at a breakfast function on site at Fieldays.

Farmside Doubles Rural Broadband Speeds    -    Fieldays ®
New Zealand-wide satellite broadband wholesaler BayCity Communications has announced that its retail division Farmside will be doubling the download speeds on all of its satellite based Rocket Broadband plans from July. At the same time, it will remove the speed cap on its top plan enabling rural New Zealanders to connect to the Internet at speeds up to 4Mbps.

National Fieldays officially open    -    Fieldays ®
New Zealand National Agricultural Fieldays opened its gates today to an enthusiastic crowd keen to see what would be on display at the largest agribusiness event in the southern hemisphere. Held at Mystery Creek Events Centre and officially opened by Prime Minster John Key, National Fieldays is into its 41st year and remains an essential event on the agricultural calendar.

Agrecovery launches Wrap Recycling Programme    -    Fieldays ®
Agrecovery has recently launched a Silage Wrap Recycling programme in New Zealand in an effort to recover the estimated 4,000 tonnes of baled silage wrap used nationwide every year. “Adding silage wrap recovery is a natural progression for Agrecovery,” said Bruce Emerson, Director of 3R Group, Programme Managers for Agrecovery.

Hawke’s Bay sheep and cattle farmer Jim Spall has endured an ongoing battle to store and safely dispose of his used silage wrap over the last decade, but it’s about to end. Jim is one of the first farmers to sign up with the nationwide Agrecovery Silage Wrap Recycling Programme, launched in March this year, offering farmers a convenient, simple way to deal with their used plastic bale wrap.

Dressed to Thrill in Fur and Farm Equipment    -    Fieldays ®
